Measure more than center drift
Vehicle control can expose uneven outer range, trigger behavior and recenter differences that a five-second idle test does not show. Use the guided full-circle sweep and trigger endpoints before editing a deadzone.
Circularity error is descriptive, not a quality score by itself. Gate shapes and controller firmware can produce a non-perfect circle while the game remains predictable. Compare repeatable asymmetry, not cosmetic perfection.
Repeatable checklist
- Rest both sticks untouched
- Sweep slowly against the complete gate
- Press and release both triggers smoothly
Validate a deadzone where control matters
Translate the normalized recommendation only after checking how the game labels its scale. Then test idle steering, slow corrections and diagonal movement.
Save the connection mode and controller profile locally. A value without the device, firmware context and date is difficult to reproduce after an update.
Repeatable checklist
- Confirm the game scale
- Test slow steering and diagonal input
- Save a named local profile
Game-specific boundary: Browser axis ordering and trigger mapping vary. Confirm the highlighted raw axis before interpreting a result.
