Steam specials at 100% off. Some are "free to keep" if you add them to your account before the deadline; others are free weekends, so check the store page wording.
No 100% discounts in Steam's featured specials at the last refresh. Free weekends and permanent free-to-play titles live on the Steam free-to-play page.
On Epic, a claimed game stays in your library forever, even after the giveaway ends; you only need to claim it inside the window shown above. Steam's "free to keep" promotions work the same way, while a "free weekend" only lets you play until the weekend ends and then asks you to buy. The store page always says which one it is.
Epic's window runs Thursday to Thursday at 11:00 AM Eastern. A game that shows "free until Thursday" disappears at that exact time, and there is no grace period. Claim on the day the page updates and you never miss one.
New game, new controls. Look the game up in the Controls Library for its default keybinds and controller layout, and run the gamepad tester or keyboard tester if a button seems dead. If it is a shooter, the sensitivity converter carries your aim over from the games you already play.
It does not claim games for you and it does not track you. It reads the public store listings, caches the artwork so the page loads fast, and links to the store. Prices shown as "usually" are the store's own list prices at the last refresh.

I will not guess. If something is not on the site, I will say so.
