How to use: Double-Click Test
Choose a threshold or keep the conservative default.
Click once at a steady pace for at least 30 clicks.
If warnings appear, slow down and repeat with another USB port or device before deciding on repair.
What the result actually measures
The diagnostic records the interval between consecutive click events on the same test target. Events closer than the selected threshold are flagged so you can compare intentional double-clicks with unintended repeats.
Measurement boundary: Fast deliberate clicking can look identical to switch bounce in browser timing. The result is evidence to reproduce, not proof of the physical switch cause.
How to interpret the output
No suspicious intervals
The session did not observe a second click inside the chosen threshold. Intermittent faults may require a longer test.
Occasional warning
Review whether you intentionally clicked twice. One isolated short interval is not enough for a diagnosis.
Repeatable burst
Multiple close events from slow deliberate single clicks are more suspicious and worth confirming on another system.
Troubleshooting unexpected results
Warnings while clicking fast
The tool cannot know your intent. Slow the rhythm so each physical click is clearly separated.
Problem appears only wirelessly
Check battery, receiver distance, interference and power-saving behavior before blaming the switch.
Frequently asked questions
What threshold should I use?
Start around 80 ms for unintended repeat screening. OS double-click settings are usually much longer and serve a different purpose.
How many clicks are enough?
Thirty is a useful quick screen; intermittent switches may require several longer sessions.
Will this change my double-click speed?
No. The threshold affects only how this page labels intervals.
