EA Sports FC input lab

A controller-first EA Sports FC diagnostics hub for stick center, full range, triggers, buttons and connection comparisons.

SticksCenter + outer rangeMovement and aim-style symptoms require both resting and sweep evidence.
TriggersSmooth endpointsWatch browser pressure values from release through full press.
ConnectionWired / wirelessChange only the transport before comparing the same action.

Screen the controller before remapping

Run every button, trigger and stick through the live map. A game mapping reset cannot repair an input that never reaches the browser.

If all inputs appear, record the exact game mode and platform where the symptom remains. Menu, match and accessibility layers can use different mappings.

Repeatable checklist

  • Press every button once
  • Sweep both sticks
  • Record exact game mode

Handle intermittent behavior as a reproduction problem

A controller that disconnects or delays occasionally needs a longer controlled comparison. Keep the same game action while changing only cable, USB port, wireless distance or another known-good controller.

Browser timing is not a complete gameplay-latency measurement. Use the fault tree to document scope and connection evidence without naming a cause too early.

Repeatable checklist

  • Preserve the original setup
  • Change one connection variable
  • Repeat the same duration
Game-specific boundary: Controller mapping and game modes can change by platform and release. Confirm the current in-game layout after hardware screening.
Do not lose the baseline

One change. Same test. Clearer answer.

Keep the device, connection, platform, game build and previous setting beside every result.
