Quick answers
Does aim assist work in Versus in Gears of War: E-Day?
No. Aim assist affects the campaign and Horde Siege only; The Coalition confirmed during the beta that Versus is not affected, whatever the setting reads.
Which control scheme is closest to the old Gears games?
Legacy, which The Coalition describes as most like classic Gears controls: A takes cover, evades, sprints and slides again, as it did in the older games, and the left stick click becomes cover crouch. Legacy Alt keeps that feel but moves evade and slide to X, and revive and interact to RB beside reload. Toggle Sprint does not apply to either.
Can you rebind keys in Gears of War: E-Day on PC?
Yes. Keyboard Bindings under Mouse & Keyboard remaps every keyboard and mouse action, and Keyboard – Sprint Style switches between Modern (tap sprint while moving forward) and Legacy (hold sprint).
How do you sprint in Gears of War: E-Day?
On the Default, Modern and Modern Alt schemes, click the left stick (L3); Toggle Sprint keeps it running. Legacy and Legacy Alt put sprint on A, as in the older games. On PC, sprint is Left Shift by default.
How do you slide in Gears of War: E-Day?
Sprint first, then press the slide button: A on Default, Modern and Legacy, B on Modern Alt and X on Legacy Alt. Slide to Cover, in the Controls menu, takes cover automatically when a slide carries you into it.
How do you jump and mantle in Gears of War: E-Day?
Y, in every one of the five schemes. Face a wall, a ledge or a vehicle within arm’s reach and the same button grabs it and hauls you up, in or out of cover.
What is the difference between Default and Modern controls?
Modern moves evade from A to B and melee from B to RB, puts reload, interact and revive together on X, and moves cover crouch from L3 to R3. Sprint stays on L3 and jump on Y in both.
How do you throw a grenade in Gears of War: E-Day?
Select your equipment with up on the D-pad, then throw it with RT, the trigger the layout lists as Shoot Weapon / Throw Equipment. Clicking both sticks together uses Tactical Gear instead.
Where is the Active Reload bar in E-Day?
In the centre of the screen just below the reticle by default. A setting moves it back to the upper-right corner where the series always had it.
