Recommended starting settings

Starting values used by most competitive mouse players, from Dexerto's settings guide and EA's own explanation of Uniform Soldier Aiming. Sensitivity is personal: keep the structure, then tune the number with the converter.

Mouse raw input On Removes Windows acceleration and smoothing from the chain. PC
Uniform Soldier Aiming On, coefficient 178 Keeps every scope on the same distance-per-360 relationship; 178 approximates 0% monitor distance. PC
Infantry aim sensitivity 50 as a baseline Equivalent to roughly 30–40 cm/360 at 800 DPI; convert your CS2 or Valorant number instead of guessing. PC
Vehicle · aircraft · helicopter sensitivity 50 · 40 · 40 Lower for aircraft so a full mouse swipe is not a full stall. PC
Flick look Always, speed 200 Lets a fast swipe finish a 180° turn even when your pad runs out. PC
Crouch / slide bind Left Ctrl for both Battlefield 6 picks crouch or slide from your speed, so one key does both jobs. PC
Ping / CommoRose bind Alt or Mouse 4 Q as a hold key fights with strafing; move it to a thumb button. PC
Controller deadzone Lowest value without drift Run the controller check first; a pad that drifts at 5% needs 8–10%, a clean one runs 3–5%. Controller
Reach check · your keyboard, this game

Can your board actually play Battlefield 6?

Every default bind, re-scored against the keyboard you own. Distance is measured from the left hand resting on WASD, because that is where it stays while you play.

On the keys
your hand is already there
Comfortable
a finger moves, the hand does not
Stretch
the hand lifts, movement wobbles
Off movement
you let go of A and D to press it
Not on this board
the key does not physically exist

Reach uses the same key geometry as BindIQ, which can rebuild the whole layout for you once you know what is out of reach. Mouse buttons always count as reachable — your right hand is already there.

Battlefield 6 control lab

The loadout runs to 7, the hand covers 4

Battlefield gives you more to press than any other shooter here: two weapons, two gadgets, a class ability, night vision, a grenade and a melee, all on the left hand, all while sprinting and going prone. The layout is not confusing — it is simply longer than the reach of the hand it was given to.

  1. 1 Primary Index finger, movement kept
  2. 2 Secondary Index finger, movement kept
  3. 3 Gadget one Middle finger, slight lift
  4. 4 Gadget two Stretch: A and D let go for a moment
  5. 6 Class ability Hand leaves movement
  6. 7 Night vision Out of reach while moving
  7. G Grenade Stretch, and one you throw under fire
  8. F Melee, or deploy the bipod Index finger, movement kept
Competing for the same hand
  • Left Shift Sprint — held constantly, by the little finger that also reaches Ctrl and Z
  • Left Ctrl and C Crouch twice over: Ctrl holds, C toggles. Slide is neither, it is crouch plus speed
  • Z Prone — bottom-left corner, and you press it in the moment you are being shot
  • E Interact, enter and exit vehicles, and quick upgrade, all on one key

Gadgets on 3 and 4 are the ones you need mid-fight and 4 already costs you movement, so those two are the first to move — mouse side buttons if you have them, otherwise onto keys the hand already holds. Class ability on 6 and night vision on 7 are past any reasonable reach; leave night vision where it is, but the class ability deserves a real key. One more worth knowing before your first vehicle: seat switching is on F1 to F6, a completely separate row, and the vehicle layout is configured apart from infantry in the settings.

Quick answers

How do you slide in Battlefield 6?

Sprint and press crouch: Left Ctrl or C on keyboard, Circle/B on a controller. The game decides between crouch and slide from your movement speed, so binding both to one key is the intended setup.

How do you open the CommoRose?

Hold Q or the middle mouse button on PC, hold L1 on PlayStation or LB on Xbox. A tap places a ping; T on keyboard or R1/RB clears it.

How do you deploy a bipod or mount a weapon?

Press F on PC or click the right stick on a controller while prone or next to a surface the game marks as mountable. The same input is melee when nothing can be mounted.

What are the vehicle controls?

Ground vehicles use W/S to accelerate and brake, A/D to steer, Left Shift to boost, Z for the handbrake and Space or the left mouse button to fire. Aircraft and helicopters use W/S for throttle, A/D for yaw, the mouse or arrow keys for pitch and roll, and Right Ctrl or the left mouse button to fire. On a pad, triggers drive, sticks steer and aim, and the stick click boosts.

What is Uniform Soldier Aiming?

A setting that scales every zoom level from your hip sensitivity using a coefficient. With it on and the coefficient at 178, a flick that lands on a target at hip fire lands on the same target through any scope, which is why most players leave it on.
