Free Fire has no fixed control scheme to document: every button is movable and resizable in Settings › Control, and the only settings that behave like bindings are the six sensitivity sliders and the control toggles. What is recorded here is the structure of those menus — the sliders that exist, what each one governs, and what each toggle changes — rather than a recommended value, because there is no default that is correct for every hand.

Free Fire is a touch game with no fixed layout: the left side carries a movement joystick and the right side carries fire, aim, jump, crouch and the item buttons, and every one of them can be moved, resized or duplicated in Settings › Control › Custom HUD. That is why control advice for this game is always about finger count rather than bindings — a two-finger grip needs large buttons near both thumbs, a four-finger claw pushes fire and jump outward so the index fingers can reach them without covering the screen. Which of those your hands and your phone can actually hold is measurable, and the lab on the hub page measures it.

Settings that change how the bindings feel

Recommended starting settings

These are the sliders and switches the game ships, with what each one governs. No values are recommended here: the right number depends on your screen size, your grip and your finger count, and every list of "best" numbers on the internet is somebody else's hand.

General sensitivity 0–100 slider

Governs hip-fire and camera speed when no scope is open. The setting most players change first and the one that interacts most with screen size — the same slider value turns further on a bigger screen because your thumb has further to swipe.

Red Dot sensitivity 0–100 slider

Applies only while a red dot or holographic sight is up. Independent of General, which is why aiming can feel right and hip-fire wrong at the same time.

2x Scope sensitivity 0–100 slider

Applies only at 2x magnification.

4x Scope sensitivity 0–100 slider

Applies only at 4x magnification. Magnification multiplies your error as well as your view, which is why this slider normally sits below the 2x one.

Sniper Scope sensitivity 0–100 slider

Applies to the AWM and other full sniper scopes — the highest magnification and therefore the slider most players set lowest.

Free Look sensitivity 0–100 slider

Governs the look-around swipe that does not turn your character. Separate from all of the above.

Custom HUD Settings › Control

Moves, resizes and duplicates every on-screen button. Layouts are saved per profile and can be exported and shared as a code.

Left Fire Button On / off

Adds a second fire button on the left side of the screen. The single most important switch for a two-finger grip, because it lets the left thumb fire while the right thumb aims.

Hold Fire to Scope On / off

Merges aiming into the fire button. Removes one contact point from the layout at the cost of never being able to aim without firing.

Quick Weapon Switch On / off

Switches weapons on a single tap instead of a tap and a confirm.

Quick Reload On / off

Reloads automatically when a magazine empties.

Grenade Slot Single / double

Double shows both throwable slots as separate buttons — one more contact point on the screen and one less menu step in a fight.

Vehicle Controls One-handed / two-handed

Two-handed splits steering and acceleration across both thumbs.

Aim Precision Default / precise

Changes how the aim assist snaps when a target crosses your crosshair.

Run Mode Classic / auto

Auto keeps sprinting without a held input, which frees a finger.

What are the default controls in Free Fire?

There is no fixed default worth memorising, because every button on the screen can be moved and resized in Settings › Control › Custom HUD. The layout the game starts you with is a two-thumb layout: joystick bottom-left, fire bottom-right, with jump, crouch and items stacked around it. Everything about that is meant to be changed.

What sensitivity settings does Free Fire have?

Six independent sliders: General, Red Dot, 2x Scope, 4x Scope, Sniper Scope and Free Look. Each applies only in its own situation, which is why your hip-fire can feel perfect and your 4x can feel unusable at the same time — they are separate numbers.

Is a four-finger claw actually better in Free Fire?

It is faster if your hands and your phone support it, and that is a bigger if than any guide admits. Two things have to be true: your screen's digitiser has to register four simultaneous contacts, which not every budget phone does, and your fingers have to reach four separate places without covering the screen or colliding. Both are measurable on the device you are reading this on, and the lab on the hub page measures them.

Why does my phone ignore one of my fingers in Free Fire?

Almost certainly because the touchscreen has hit its simultaneous-contact limit. Phone digitisers report a maximum number of tracked points — commonly two, five or ten — and once you pass it the newest contact is dropped or an existing one is deleted. It looks and feels like the game ignoring you, and it is the hardware. Test it before you rebuild your layout around a grip the device cannot deliver.

Does Free Fire support a controller?

Not officially. Free Fire and Free Fire MAX are touch games and Garena has never added controller support, so a pad only works through apps or emulators that turn buttons into screen touches, which Garena does not support. That is why this entry records sliders and toggles rather than a button list.

Can you play Free Fire on PC?

Only through an Android emulator: Garena publishes Free Fire and Free Fire MAX for phones, not for Windows. Since 29 August 2022 emulator players have their own matchmaking pool in ranked Battle Royale and Clash Squad, and a squad with one emulator player is matched against emulator players. The keyboard and mouse layout comes from the emulator’s key-mapping tool, not from the game, so there is no official PC bind list.
