Terraria secret seeds checker: what does your seed actually do?

Every site lists the 9 seeds. None can read the one you typed.

Terraria's seed box is a parser, and Re-Logic documented how it works: it lowercases what you type, deletes everything that is not a letter or a digit, then tries it as a number — and hashes it when that fails. Which means an ordinary phrase can land on a special world without a single word giving it away. This page implements that parse, so you can type anything and see what the game will actually do with it.

Type anything. See what the game does with it

This is the game's own parse, implemented: your input lowercased and stripped to letters and digits, then read as a number — or hashed, when it will not read as one. Both results are checked against the 9 special codes, which is exactly what the seed box does.

Anything at all.

What this will not tell you What the world looks like. This reads the seed the way the game reads it — which code it matches, and why — and stops there. It does not generate a world, know where anything spawns, or claim what a given number will build. That is world generation, and nothing in a browser can honestly stand in for it.

All 9, with every code that opens them

Text codes are shown as the game stores them — lowercase, no spaces or punctuation — because that is what it compares against. Type them however you like; the parse will strip them to this anyway.

SeedCodesWhat the world becomes
Not the BeesNotTheBees notthebees The surface becomes jungle and honey; almost every ore is replaced and the world is painted.
DrunkDrunk 5162020 Corruption and Crimson in the same world, plus both evil biomes’ items, and world generation generally let off its leash.
Celebration Mk 10Celebration celebrationmk10 51620115162021 The tenth-anniversary world: party-themed generation, extra chests and gifts.
The ConstantTheConstant constanttheconstanteye4aneyeeyeforaneye Hunger, darkness that damages you, and a sepia filter — the Don’t Starve crossover rules.
For the WorthyForTheWorthy fortheworthy One difficulty step above whatever you picked, with terrain rebuilt to kill you.
No TrapsNoTraps notraps Despite the name, a world with considerably more traps than usual.
RemixRemix dontdigup The world inverted: you start underground and the surface is the goal.
ZenithEverything getfixedboi Every other special seed at once, plus effects that exist nowhere else. The hardest world in the game.
SkyblockSkyblock skyblock A world of floating islands and almost nothing else to start with.
Two of them are numbers, and one is only a number Drunk has no text code at all — it is 5162020 and nothing else. Celebration Mk 10 is the only seed with both. That asymmetry is why the hash matters: a phrase cannot accidentally become Not the Bees, but it can accidentally become Drunk.

You cannot type two of them

Entering a code activates exactly one special seed and switches off any previous one. Every list on the internet prints the codes without saying this, which leaves people typing two and wondering why only the second one took.

The seed field

One special seed, whichever code you last entered. This is the route every guide describes and the only one that cannot combine.

The Seed Menu

Zenith is the exception

The get fixed boi world carries aspects of every other special seed at once, plus effects of its own. It is the one way to get everything from a single typed code.

Click for 5 seconds, the way you'd click through a fight

Not a burst — a boss is ninety seconds long and a burst says nothing about one. The window starts on your first click and needs 6 of them before a rate means anything. Everything below is in the game's own unit: 60 ticks a second, which is how every weapon's use time is written.

Click here. The scale underneath is use time in ticks — a shorter use time is a faster weapon.

Nothing is uploaded unless you contribute. Cards and links contain only the numbers shown above.

What this will not tell you Which weapon to use, or what any of this does to your damage. Use times belong to individual items and change between versions, so this page ships no weapon table and makes no per-weapon claim — the scale is drawn in ticks so you can bring the number from whichever weapon you care about. What is measured is your own sustained rate and the break-even it implies, and that stays true whatever the next patch does.

One setting removes the left half of that scale. It ships off

The most-read settings guide we surveyed covers interface, cursor and video, and never mentions this row. The two wikis document it correctly — in one line, in the middle of the menu's own order, between two rows about pausing.

    Onset it to

    Autofire · General

The game's own description is four words long: enables autoswing for all weapons. Off by default, which is the single most consequential default in Terraria — with it off, every non-autoswing weapon fires once per click, so your damage is capped by how fast you can click rather than by the weapon. Almost no control guide mentions this switch exists.

    Options: On · Off.

    60ticks a second

    What it actually changes

With it on, the weapon's own use time is the only thing deciding the rate: the red half of the scale in module one stops existing, and clicking faster buys nothing at any use time.

Everything this site knows about Terraria

Two pages, and they are not interchangeable: one is the reference you look a binding up in, the other measures the hand pressing it. Both figures below are counted from what each page holds.

    Asked about these controls

The questions this page can answer.

How do you turn on autoswing in Terraria?

Settings → General → Autofire, set to On. The game’s own description of it is four words long — enables autoswing for all weapons — and it ships turned off, which is why so many players believe autoswing is something only certain weapons have. With it on, every weapon swings while you hold the button and the weapon’s own use time is the only thing setting the rate.

Does clicking faster do more damage in Terraria?

Only up to the weapon’s use time, and then not at all. A weapon with a use time of ten ticks can swing six times a second; if you click five times a second you are leaving a sixth of its swings unused, and if you click eight times a second the extra three do nothing. The bench on this page measures your own sustained rate and shows which side of that line each use time falls on.

What is Smart Block Placement in Terraria?

A Controls setting, disabled by default, that runs blocks out to your cursor instead of stopping at the last valid tile — the difference between drawing a line and clicking one square at a time. Most builders never find it because nothing in the building experience suggests it exists.

Should Smart Cursor be toggle or hold in Terraria?

Hold, for the same reason hold beats toggle everywhere: on the default toggle you press Left Ctrl to switch modes and then forget which mode you are in, which is how a tunnel becomes a hole in your roof. On hold the mode lasts exactly as long as your finger does. It is under Controls, not General.
