FACEIT levels and elo ranges
FACEIT rates CS2 players by elo, from 100 upwards with no ceiling, and groups the numbers into ten levels. The ranges are FACEIT’s own; the share of the European ladder beside each one is this page’s measurement.

How many players reach each level
On 7 October 2026 FACEIT’s European CS2 ladder held 1,592,518 accounts, and 227,526 of them were level 10.
The middle of that ladder sat at 1,264 elo, level 6. The top 10% started at 2,119 and the top 1% at 2,796.
The other ladders are far smaller and level 10 is rarer on most of them; the tower above switches between regions.
How elo moves
Elo changes only with wins and losses. FACEIT says the amount is linked to your team’s perceived chance of winning, which is why an upset pays more than a win as the favourite — and it does not publish the formula, so the calculator above takes your own per-match figure rather than pretending to know it.
A new account that meets FACEIT’s minimum requirements, including Prime status and a minimum number of Premier wins, starts from its latest Premier rating, translated with a formula FACEIT’s data team built. Without one it starts at 1,000 elo, level 4.
The Season 9 reset
Season 9 began on 5 August 2026 with a soft reset applied to every account at once, active or not, and ten placement matches that set the starting elo. The reset read each player’s last 50 games — activity, win rate and FACEIT Rating — rather than only the elo they finished on. Fewer than 20 wins in Season 8 added an inactivity penalty, and the top of level 10 was compressed the most: above 2,500 elo a player usually started lower even after good placements.
FACEIT level and Premier rating
There is no official conversion. FACEIT uses a Premier rating only to place a new account, with a formula it has not published, and Valve does not publish how Premier ratings are spread across players. A line such as “level 10 is 20,000 Premier” comes from people who play both, and it moves with whoever is asked.
How the ladder was measured
FACEIT’s Data API lists every account on a region’s CS2 ladder in elo order. The number of accounts at or above an elo is therefore the position where the ladder first drops below it, and each level floor was found on it by binary search. The counts are accounts on the ladder as the API returns it, not players active this week. A place typed as a number is drawn on a straight line between the measured points; a nickname lookup shows the exact place FACEIT gives the account instead.
