Call of Duty on PC · Activision’s requirements, checked 20 October 2026

“Failed Attestation” fixed in the only order that works.

Modern Warfare 4 will not let you into a single online mode without TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, and Black Ops 7 and Warzone lock Ranked. Read three Windows screens below: the page lights the link that is broken and gives you the fix in the order your PC can survive — the disk before the boot mode, the boot mode before Secure Boot.

Modern Warfare 4 No online mode can be played.
Black Ops 7 Ranked Play and some playlists are locked, and you may be matched in a separate pool.
Warzone Ranked Play and some playlists are locked, and you may be matched in a separate pool.

Straight answers

TPM, Secure Boot and Call of Duty

What does “Failed Attestation Status” mean in Call of Duty?

It means the game could not confirm that your PC has TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot switched on. In Modern Warfare 4 that blocks every online mode; in Black Ops 7 and Warzone it locks Ranked Play and some playlists and can put you in a separate matchmaking pool. The fix is in your BIOS and your Windows disk, not in the game.

Does Modern Warfare 4 need TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot?

Yes, both. Activision lists them as required for Modern Warfare 4 on PC, together with Windows 10 version 22H2 or later, or any version of Windows 11. Without them no online mode can be played.

Why is Secure Boot greyed out in my BIOS?

Because the PC is booting in Legacy (CSM) mode. Secure Boot only exists in UEFI mode, so the boot mode has to change first — and UEFI cannot boot a disk that is still MBR, so check the partition style before you switch it.

Will converting my disk from MBR to GPT delete my files?

Microsoft’s MBR2GPT tool converts the disk without modifying or deleting the data on it, but the change cannot be undone and the PC will only boot in UEFI mode afterwards. Run mbr2gpt /validate /allowFullOS first and convert only if it succeeds; Activision also asks for BitLocker to be off, no dual boot and no more than three partitions.

What is wrong with AMD fTPM firmware 3.*.0.*?

Activision lists AMD fTPM firmware of the form 3.*.0.* as not compatible: 3.92.0.5 needs a BIOS update, 3.92.5.5 is fine. Read it in tpm.msc under Manufacturer Version. A symptom is the enrollaik.exe prompt coming back after you approved it. Only a BIOS update from your motherboard maker replaces the firmware.

Everything is on and the game still says Failed Attestation. What now?

Run Activision’s Secure Attestation Wizard to see what the game sees, look for a BIOS newer than the one installed even if your firmware is not on the incompatible lists, and then report it to Activision at support.activision.com/tpm-report.
