No control moves in Galactic Racer. So check what yours can hold.
Every default on a controller and a keyboard, from the launch-day table. The game cannot rebind any of them — press a button or a key to see its job, then test the key combinations a lap asks a keyboard for.
Press a button on your controller or a key on your keyboard — or tap one above. Its job in Galactic Racer appears here.
No default uses . Galactic Racer leaves it empty, and you cannot put anything on it.
Left and right steer; up and down pitch the nose.
Also starts the engines on the grid and feeds the Perfect Start bar.
On a speeder bike, braking into a corner is what charges Kinetic Burst.
Fires whichever boost is armed: the Afterburner by default, the Ramjet once you switch to it.
Arms the Ramjet once its meter is full, so the boost button fires it.
Your chassis’s cornering move: drift on a landspeeder, Knife Edge on a skim speeder.
Each use spends a battery charge.
On a keyboard the nose goes up and down on the two right-hand modifier keys.
Can your keyboard hold a boosted corner?
A keyboard player cannot move a key out of the way, so the only question left is whether the board reports the keys the game wants at the same moment. Pick a combination and hold every key in it.
Throttle, steering and the Afterburner, held together on every exit.
Throttle, steer, boost and Advanced Maneuver: the landspeeder drift with the Afterburner held.
Switching to the Ramjet without lifting off the throttle or the steering.
Hold the keys above together.
If one key never lights while you hold the others, the keyboard is dropping it — the game cannot see it either. A full check of every combination is on the keyboard ghosting test.
Moving a button on a controller: Steam Input
- In your Steam Library, right-click Star Wars: Galactic Racer and open Properties.
- Under Controller, choose Enable Steam Input.
- Start the game, open the Steam overlay with the Guide or PS button, and pick Controller Layout.
- Edit Layout, then give the button the job you want — for example the Ramjet toggle on a bumper instead of a stick click.
This changes what the pad tells the game, not the game's own settings, so the on-screen prompts keep showing the original buttons. It works for controllers only; a keyboard stays as it is.
