Planet Zoo 2 controls & keybinds

Planet Zoo 2 on PC moves the camera with W, A, S and D, raises it with E and lowers it with Q, and the mouse does the rest: hold the right button to pan, the middle button to tilt and rotate, and roll the wheel to zoom. P pauses the simulation, O changes its speed, Z turns an object 90 degrees and Ctrl + Z undoes. On a controller the left stick moves the camera, the right stick turns it, the triggers zoom and Cross or A selects. Every keyboard and mouse binding can be remapped in the settings.

Can your board actually play Planet Zoo 2?

Every default bind, re-scored against the keyboard you own. Distance is measured from the left hand resting on WASD, because that is where it stays while you play.

On a 60% board Planet Zoo 2 loses 9 keys. Home, F10, F11, Delete, End, F1, F2, F3 and F4 are not on that board at all — so reset the camera, game manual, zoopedia, delete the selected object and 5 more have nowhere to live until you rebind them. Do that before the first match rather than during it. How that compares with every other game.

Quick answers

How do you move the camera in Planet Zoo 2?

W, A, S and D pan it, E raises it and Q lowers it. With the mouse, hold the right button and move to pan, hold the middle button to tilt and rotate, and roll the wheel to zoom — Page Up and Page Down zoom too. T switches to the freelook camera, where Shift moves faster, and Home resets the view. On a controller the left stick moves the camera, the right stick rotates it and the triggers zoom.

How do you rotate objects in Planet Zoo 2?

Z turns the object 90 degrees while you place it, and X switches to advanced move and rotate for free rotation. Space toggles angle snap, ; toggles random rotation and End resets the rotation. On a controller L1 and R1, or LB and RB, turn it 90 degrees either way.

How do you pause or speed up time in Planet Zoo 2?

P pauses the simulation and P again resumes it; O changes the simulation speed.

How do you undo in Planet Zoo 2?

Ctrl + Z undoes and Ctrl + Y redoes. Delete removes the selected object, and Ctrl + D duplicates it.

Can you change the controls in Planet Zoo 2?

On PC, yes: every keyboard and mouse control can be remapped in Settings › Keyboard And Mouse. Frontier's guide shows one default controller layout per tool.

Why do my Planet Zoo 2 keybindings keep resetting?

That was a bug in the launch version: custom keybindings reset whenever you opened the Hub, Animal Trading or Animal Storage. Update 1.0.4, released on 14 October 2026, fixes it. If yours still reset, check that the game has updated to 1.0.4 or later, then set them once more.

Does Planet Zoo 2 support a controller on PC?

Yes. Steam lists full controller support, and the pad uses the same layout as PlayStation 5 and Xbox.

How do you raise or lower a path in Planet Zoo 2?

U raises and J lowers the path before you place it. Holding Shift and moving the mouse up or down adjusts the height while you draw, and [ and ] change the path width.
