Roblox is the only game here where the settings you see are somebody else's choice. Any of these rows can be greyed out by the experience you are in — and one pair silently breaks another: with Click to Move selected, shift lock does not work at all.

The setting most Roblox searches are really about. On, Shift locks the camera behind your avatar and the character turns with the mouse — third person that aims like first person. Every combat experience is a different game with it on. PC

Classic leaves the camera where you last put it; Follow swings it behind you as you turn. Follow is what makes a chase readable, and it is the other half of the shift-lock interaction above. PC

Ten bars rather than a number, which is as much precision as this menu offers. It is worth setting deliberately anyway: with shift lock on, this slider is your aim sensitivity. PC

Can your board actually play Roblox?

On the keys: your hand is already there

The platform guarantees the handful below on every experience and every device; everything else — sprint, crouch, abilities, vehicles — is written by whoever made the experience you are in. That is why no two Roblox control lists agree, and why a single answer to "Roblox controls" is always partly wrong.

Shift lock is the one worth knowing and the one most people are actually searching for: it turns Roblox from a third-person camera into a shooter camera, and every combat experience plays differently with it on. Beyond this table, assume nothing carries over — check the experience's own settings menu before deciding a key is broken, and if a key genuinely does nothing anywhere, test the key itself rather than the game.

How do I turn on shift lock?

Open Settings from the Roblox menu and set Shift Lock Switch to On. Then Left Shift toggles a mode where your character faces the camera direction, which most shooters and obbies expect.

Why don't the number keys equip my tools?

Number keys only work while the backpack has tools in those slots. Press the grave key (`) to open the backpack and drag tools into the slots.

How do I open chat?

Press / on keyboard or tap the chat bubble in the top-left. Some experiences disable chat entirely.

Can I use a controller for Roblox on PC?

Yes. Plug in an Xbox or PlayStation controller and Roblox switches to controller mode automatically; the standard layout above applies unless the experience remaps it.

Why is shift lock not working in Roblox?

Check Movement Mode first: with Click to Move selected, shift lock does not work at all. The other possibility is that the experience you are in has locked the option, because creators can grey out any of these rows.

Can a Roblox experience disable my settings?

Yes. The creator can lock Movement Mode, Camera Mode and shift lock, so a setting that works in one place is simply missing in the next. A greyed row is their choice, not a fault in your account.
