Diablo IV controls & keybinds

Diablo IV keeps the six-skill layout: two on the mouse and four on the number keys, evade on Space and the potion on Q. Controller play uses the face buttons and bumpers, with movement on the left stick instead of clicks.

Can your board actually play Diablo IV?

Every default bind, re-scored against the keyboard you own. Distance is measured from the left hand resting on WASD, because that is where it stays while you play.

Quick answers

Can I move with WASD in Diablo IV?

Yes: Options › Controls › Move with keyboard (added in 2024). Skills then aim at the cursor while WASD moves, which most players prefer for evading.

How do I evade?

Press Space (Circle/B). Evade has a short cooldown that some gear reduces; it also cancels most animations.

How do I mount?

Press Z (L2/LT) outside towns after finishing the Donan's Favor quest in Act IV. Space spurs the mount for bursts of speed.

How do I see item names on the ground?

Hold Left Alt (press the right stick on controller). Loot filters in Options let you hide common items permanently.

How do I use the town portal?

Press T (D-pad Up). The portal returns you to town and creates a return portal; using it in a dungeon keeps your place.
